Yellow Split Peas Pudding

This desert is so easy to make that I didn’t even bother to take pictures of my cooking process. It’s a favorite of many Beijing locals and I did enjoy it a lot while doing my undergraduate there.

Basically what you need to do is boil yellow split peas with lots of water, stir in sugar (the exact amount depends on how sweet you like your desert to be), and cook till the mixture has thickened (you are free to use a blender here if you really want the smooth texture). Chill the mixture in the fridge overnight or several hours till it becomes solid, and eat.
